Lineworkers from Harlan Electric provided emergency response to Florida after Hurricane Milton made landfall on Oct. 9, 2024.

Hurricane Milton hit Florida and brought with it 120 MPH winds, massive flooding, and more than three million homes losing power. As if Hurricane Milton wasn’t bad enough on its own, it came less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene, which made landfall in Florida as a Category 4 hurricane on Sept. 26, 2024. Nearly 6 million people lost power across 10 states as a result.

Lineworkers from MYR Group subsidiaries responded to both hurricanes, working tirelessly to provide power to affected communicates, essentially without a break between the storms. MYR Group provided its largest storm response to date for Hurricane Milton with 373 lineworkers, mechanics, safety specialists, and other support staff at the peak of the effort
